Who these terms are with

Booking a court forms an agreement between you and Haxby Town Council, who own and run the facility. By booking you accept these terms and the court rules below.

Booking a court

• Booking is currently for members of the four partner clubs — Haxby Netball, Haxby Town JFC, Haxby Town FC and Haxby Runners. Accounts are set up by a club secretary or by the council.
• You need an account to book. One person is responsible for each booking.
• Courts can be booked up to 12 weeks ahead, right up until the start time.
• Bookings run in 30-minute steps, from 30 minutes up to 4 hours.
• The courts are open from 08:00. The last booking of the day ends at 21:30.
• Netball and football can't run at the same time, even on different courts — the run-off between them isn't safe to share. The booking system enforces this: if one is booked, the other won't be offered for that time. Running is compatible with both.
• Book the sport you're actually playing. Booking one sport and playing another puts the other court's users at risk and may lose you the booking.

Cost

Court bookings are currently free. The council isn't taking online payments at this stage, so there's nothing to pay and nothing to refund.

Cancelling

Cancel any booking you can't use, from the My bookings tab, at any time. There's no deadline and no charge — but please do it as early as you can, so someone else can take the slot. A court sitting empty because of a no-show is a court nobody in Haxby could use.

Using the courts

These are the council's rules for the courts, and they apply to every booking:

• Suitable netball footwear must be worn when playing netball.
• For other sports, appropriate footwear that will not damage the court surface must be used.
• Metal studs or blades must not be worn on the courts.
• All footwear must be clean and free from mud, stones, grit and other debris before entering the courts.
• The courts are a no-smoking and no-vaping area.
• Chewing gum is not permitted on the courts.

Please also leave the courts as you'd want to find them: brush the courts, put the equipment away, lock the storage cage, take your rubbish, and shut and lock the gate. The site asks you to confirm these when you check out.

Photographs

You may add a photo of the court when you arrive and when you leave. It's optional and your booking doesn't depend on it. Photograph the court, not people. Photos are only visible to the committee and are deleted automatically — see the privacy policy.

When we may cancel a booking

We'll always try to give as much notice as we can, but bookings may be cancelled if:

• the courts are unsafe or unusable — weather, damage, or a fault;
• essential maintenance is needed;
• these terms or the court rules have been broken.

Your responsibility

You use the courts at your own risk. You're responsible for the people in your group, for playing in a way that's safe for them and for anyone on the neighbouring court, and for any damage caused beyond ordinary wear. Please report damage or a hazard rather than leaving it for the next group to find.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can't be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
